History of Bridgeview, IL
Bridgeview, IL 60455
Somewhere in the range
of 1850 and 1870 Chicago's populace bounced from 30,000 to almost 300,000.
Theory in land and railroad stock was high. Political development of all
Illinois was a consequence of a trade off between the municipality arrangement
of Northern Illinois and the district arrangement of Southern Illinois. Our
state is partitioned into 102 provinces, with every region separated into
municipalities. The present civil limits of Bridgeview incorporate four unique
municipalities, with an edge of each gathering at the convergence of 87th
Street and Harlem Avenue.
Had it not been for
Nathaniel Pope, Representative in Congress for the Territory of Illinois,
Bridgeview just as the whole Chicago zone may today have a place with
Wisconsin. In 1818, Pope convinced President James Monroe and the U.S. Congress
to remember Chicago for the new State of Illinois by permitting a wide bundle
to be de-added from Wisconsin's southern area.
